RTN's position on the statutory regulation of the activities of the social scientific and scientific-technical movement in Poland
- Details
The Council of Scientific Societies operating at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences represents over 350 scientific societies and scientific associations (general and regional societies, specialized scientific societies, scientific and technical associations), gathering thousands of members. This social scientific, scientific and technical movement is an integral part of the Polish science system in a democratic civil society. Its origins date back to the partitions, in which it strengthened national awareness and laid the foundations for the revival of the institutional structures of Polish science.
Scientific societies and scientific and technical associations belonging to the Polish science system should find confirmation of their status in the legal system in force in Poland, and should also be financially supported. Therefore, we believe that ultimately a separate act on scientific societies operating in the country should be adopted, harmonized with the laws relating to the entire area of education and science.
